Policy & Lobbying

NJM has worked with a number of clients in developing a strategic approach to the policy making and funding process at both the UK and European level. It is always important to remember that funding is the end product of the policy making process and - importantly - influencing policy is often the best way to position an organisation to access funds.

We encourage clients to position themselves in the policy making process by visiting key local, national and European officials, inviting them to visit their organisation and entering into a dialogue with them by responding to consultation documents and by making considered and timely inputs to the development of policy. Organisations that take the trouble to do so are at a distinct advantage.

NJM can:

  • Prepare lobbying strategies, including the identification of key officials who have responsibility for areas of policy and funding of direct interest to the client
  • Assist in the preparation of lobbying documents aimed at influencing the content of policy documents and work programmes
  • Arrange visits to, for instance, Brussels to meet key officials in areas of direct interest  to the clients interest
  • Assist in the preparation of responses to Green/White Papers and consultation documents
