International Development

NJM provides a range of services outside the UK. These include assisting Accession States to prepare for entry into the European Union by:

  • Raising awareness of the Acquis Communautaire
  • Guiding the creation of regional development plans
  • Supporting Regional Development Agency staff to produce regional economic strategies and plans, design grant programme regimes, define grant programme priorities, grant application processes (forms) and evaluation criteria
  • Promoting EU funding programmes and designing systems to manage them and
  • Providing staff training to develop capacity to manage responses to EU policy and funds

NJM has also worked closely with UK universities, companies and public authorities to raise their profile in Asia and particularly in China. This has included:

  • Assisting clients to access specialist funding programmes
  • Arranging lobbying meetings with Commission officials
  • Stimulating business and cultural links
  • Supporting the coordination of Chinese delegations to the UK to develop strategic and commercial networks with interested parties
